The 8th World One Health Congress 2024, held in Cape Town, gathered over 1,400 participants from 87 countries, showcasing the international commitment to advancing the One Health paradigm. The Congress provided a platform for discussions on the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, with more than 400 speakers addressing critical global issues. The four-day event featured 70 sessions and 600 scientific posters, culminating in high-level discussions that would influence the 79th UN Session in New York. The Congress explored diverse topics, such as antimicrobial resistance, science-policy interfaces, and the application of the One Health approach in tackling global health challenges, all through a unique African perspective.
